April is coming up and I wanted to say a few words about the month dedicated to autism awareness. Many of us in the autism community are tired of stories about lighting the world up in blue and celebrating autism as if parents should be happy about a diagnosis. We've endured years of feel-good coverage about awareness, fund-raising walks, and no explanation for the mystery of autism.

Most of all, we want you to do your jobs.

THE AUTISM EPIDEMIC IS REAL, AND EXCESSIVE VACCINATIONS ARE THE CAUSE

The vaccine manufacturers, the Center for Disease Control, the FDA, and the various medical associations have failed miserably in their duty to protect our children. Rather than acknowledge their role in creating the immense, catastrophic rise in autism, these organizations have resorted to denial and obfuscation. They stand to lose their credibility, and billions of dollars in liability suits will soon reach the courts.

A number of medical and behavioral issues frequently occur with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). These “co-morbid conditions” include anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), gastrointestinal (GI) problems, sleep disturbances and epilepsy.

In addition, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that children with autism or other developmental disorders have higher than expected rates of an even broader range of medical conditions. Specifically, these children are:

* 1.8 times more likely than children without developmental disabilities to have asthma,
* 1.6 times more likely to have eczema or skin allergies,
* 1.8 times more likely to have food allergies,
* 2.2 times more likely to have chronic severe headaches, and
* 3.5 times more likely to have chronic diarrhea or colitis (inflammation of the colon).
