A Louisiana mother has filed a lawsuit against the makers of the vaccine Gardasil after her daughter developed symptoms allegedly associated with its use.

Roslyn Hymel, individually and on behalf of Casie Green, filed suit against Merck & Co., Aventis Pasteur Inc., American Home Products Corp., Eli Lilly and Co. on July 15 in federal court in New Orleans.

Hymel states her daughter received several vaccinations of Gardasil during July 2007 and January 2010 and now suffers from neurological effects including seizures and unnatural motor reflexes, headaches, dizziness and fatigue.

The defendants are accused of violating the Louisiana Products Liability Act by manufacturing, marketing and selling the vaccine without adequate testing and without adequate warnings.

March 12th 2010 saw six very special women from around the world, present documents and research about the HPV vaccines Gardasil and Cervarix to the FDA by request. Never before have the FDA turned to members of the public regarding vaccine safety but in an extraordinary move this is exactly what happened. Dubbed the 'Little Women' by the FDA the group presented evidence that will shock the world and could have the FDA eating their words.

The six women who had become increasingly concerned about the HPV vaccines Gardasil and Cervarix presented a power point presentation accompanied with documents showing the dangers of the HPV vaccines to the FDA. Their hope was to prove to the FDA that these two vaccines are so dangerous that they should be removed from the vaccine schedule as soon as possible.

The reports that were presented, detailed worldwide data, proving that women and young girls have suffered severe adverse reactions, including death, after being vaccinated with the HPV vaccines.

17,000 Patients Sickened By Gardasil, CDC Data Shows

WILKESBORO, N.C. --
Fourteen-year-old Wilkesboro teen Lauren Mathis is happy to be able to do simple tasks like studying for school. That's because she spent the past year and a half bedridden, missing more than 85 days of classes.

"It really upset me, just being in pain and not being able to see my friends and do anything a normal kid would be able to do," Lauren said.

Lauren's mom, Rosemary, said her daughter's illness started after a routine visit to the pediatrician a year and a half ago. Her doctor recommended a new vaccine for young women, called Gardasil.

A local mother is suing the makers of Gardasil claiming her daughter suffered from seizures and got brain damage after getting the vaccination.

Wolf's daughter Alexis has been sick for the past three years with uncontrollable vomiting and seizures which left her brain damaged.

Wolf said her daughter got a series of Gardasil vaccine injections in 2007 and 2008. Shortly after, Alexis reportedly went from being a happy, honor-roll student to a completely different person

To the end of last year, 10 serious adverse events following vaccinations with the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine Gardasil were reported to the national Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring (Carm) in Dunedin.

These include a report of a sudden death occurring six months after the third dose of the vaccination, a report from Carm director Dr Michael Tatley says. ...

By the end of December, 236,299 doses of HPV vaccine had been recorded as being administered with a total of 236 reports of adverse events following immunisation.

The most common symptom reported was injection site reactions (78), followed by nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea (75), skin reactions (61) and headache (44).

In Australia, commencing in 2007, a free quadrivalent HPV vaccine was offered to all females aged 12-26 years. Set up inquiry into death of tribal girls

NEW DELHI: Close to 70 civil society groups, public health organisations, medical professionals, human rights organisations, women's groups and individuals have voiced their opposition to the nature of the HPV (human papilloma virus) vaccination ‘projects' carried out in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat by PATH International, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the respective State governments.

They urged the Union government to come up with a national policy on this kind of medical “experimentation” and a pro-people vaccine policy based on public health needs.

In a memorandum submitted to Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the groups pointed out that the efficacy of the vaccines, Gardasil and Cervarix, was highly suspect and a number of very serious side-effects, including deaths of vaccinated girls, were reported across the world.

As per extensive documentations made after fact-finding missions by local groups in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh (where 14,000 girls in the age group of 10-14 years have been vaccinated with three doses of the HPV vaccine), 120 reported adverse side-effects.

The number of head and neck cancers linked to a virus spread by oral sex is rising rapidly and suggests boys as well as girls should be offered protection through vaccination, doctors said Friday.

Despite an overall slight decline in head and neck cancers in recent years, cases of a particular form called oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) have increased sharply, particularly in the developed world.

This growth seems to be linked to cancers caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), scientists said in a report in the British Medical Journal.

We report the course of a 16-year-old girl who presented with near complete visual loss associated with chiasmal neuritis and a biopsy proven tumefactive demyelinating lesion on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in association with a recent immunization against human papilloma virus.

She had received her second vaccination against human papilloma virus 10 days prior to her presentation. There was no family history of demyelinating disease, collagen-vascular disease, or rheumatological disorders.

In the context of prior vaccination in a 16-year-old girl, acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis is likely to explain the multifocal deficits.

FDA Says Merck’s Cervical Cancer Vaccine Seems Safe
The vaccine Gardasil was developed by Australian researcher Professor Ian Frazer, who designed it to prevent infection with certain types of the human papilloma virus, or HPV, which causes warts and most cases of cervical cancer -- the second- biggest cancer killer in women.


Merck studied Gardasil in women ages 9 to 26.

Two kinds of sexually transmitted human papilloma virus, types 16 and 18, are causative factors for an estimated 70 % of cervical cancer cases and are the targets of Gardasil. The specified kinds of cancers kill approximately 300,000 women globally each year, including almost 4,000 in the United States, Merck said.

GlasxoSmithkline (GSK ) is working on ... Another type of cervical cancer vaccine (Cervarix) is also being investigated by GlasxoSmithkline (GSK ). It contains antigens for HPV 16 and 18, as well as the cancer-causing strains HPV 31, 45, 52. It does not protect against genital warts.

This time I found 2207 reports of adverse reactions to Gardasil. This is an increase of 2125 new reports in 5 ½ months since my last article on February 6th, 2007, where I reported only 82 reports. Oh, my dear God!

[Summary of VAERS reports on July 22, 2007:
31 life threatening, 1385 emergency room visits, 451 at time of report had not recovered, 51 disabled at time of report, 5 deaths with three being aged 12, 15 and 19. The other two were unknown ages.]
